Where are you guys getting your baking mats?? Looked at the Dollar Store, Walmart and Fleet Farm....no one carrys them. Our local Shopko has them but they want $20 and they are twice the size that fits in my oven.
Suggestions?

I see them everywhere. But I live in a big metro area. And the wife as at least 5 of them.

I plan to stick with (and not to) NSAF.

I ordered from wal mart
nice thick blue ones.
free delivery to closest wal mart store. Only took a couple of days

found the thin red ones will 'grow' in the heat of an oven. Caused a few bullets to fall off and/or tumble over.

I used one that the wife gave me.

I found that parchment paper to work better for me.

parchment is a good choice, too. I can get over 10-15 trips into the oven if I am careful. Down side is I have to use two pieces of metal so I can sandwich the ends under the top one and not tear it up as it goes into the oven.

with silicone I can just put it on top of a metal plate and I'm ready for the oven

I got mine from Costco, and if you have a Smart & Final in your area I saw they carry them also.

$20 divided by 2 = $10 each. Not a bad price? They cut real easy with a razor knife and straignt edge. If you can't find the size you need, make 'em.

I wasn't happy with NSAF, like the Parchment better - have yet to try Silpat

I think I found my silicone mats at Target. Trimmed them to the size I need and couldn't be happier.

Parchment paper worked well for me also, but the boolits tended to slide around more than on my silicone mats. The paper itself would often slide in the shallow heavy duty baking pans I use.

The silicone mats just stay put better and the boolits stay put a little better on the silicone mats as well. If you are not clumsy like me then NSAF and parchment paper are both fine. But I AM clumsy so it is silicone mats for me. Check at a Target Store...........Mike
