My 375 takes a .379 bullet dia. But that was after I slugged the bore to see what it actually was and then did a throat slug to see what I had there.
By making a throat slug I also found I can use 38-55 brass also.

Mine used 375296 at .377" diameter.
With the Weaver T-10 it made little groups.

Essentially it's a modern update of the classic 38-55, so it should be accurate to a fault. Since Ruger uses modern methods, I would expect their barrels to have consistent bore and groove diameters. If .377 works for Good Cheer and pahermit, I'd wager a spent primer or two that size would be a good starting place for you as well. JMHO, YMMV!

The 375 Winchester was designed for a .376" diameter bullet.

It is always better to error on the large size with cast bullets.

I spoke too soon. My #3 was shooting fine with both diameter bullets. Then it started to shoot all over the target, even had some hit the target sideways. The load was 11 gr unique with both bullets. Checked and cleaned the bore, no leading. Mmy marlin jes rebore shoots a 376 at 50 yds almost all touching. What is the twist on the ruger 375?

All original factory 375 Win/Big Bore barrels including Savage, Ruger, Winchester, and Marlin used a 1/12" twist barrel.
What Powder and Velocity are you using?

Mine does pretty well with Lyman #375248 and 25 grs. of 4227

I use the RCBS 37-250 sized 0.376 and shoots well with somchem S335 (similar 3031) with 30 gr right on 1500 fps.

In my Ruger #3

No leading at all

Pays to seat the bullet "long", as with standard crimp front band of bullet is not in throat, and has to 'bounce' into throat.

Busy with a custom 275gr mountain mould bullet designed without crimp groove to seat long.
