Had a chance to shoot some 30HVTH boolitz from another rifle. My Stevens 325C in 30-30 has a 21" 12" twist barrel as most 30-30s. The old light rifle handles the Sliver in great fashion. All shooting was done from my 100 yard bench, all groups are 10 shot groups. I loaded the Arsenal 30HVTH 170 gr Sliver to a COL of 2.550, at that length they fed perfect from the mag and there was no engraving of the nose. Loaded rounds would also eject from the rifles port without hanging up. I was using RP brass that had been well fire formed in this rifle. The cases were neck sized using my 308 Win LEE colet die. For a scope this old rifle has a weaver side mount and carries a fine older Bushnell Banner ( B&L, Japan, Marked) in 3x9 configuration. I believe these loads will be close to factory velocity from this rifle.

All loads shown in this post were shot using Winchester large PISTOL primers.

The 5 cavity Arsenal mold that I have with my alloy is dropping very consistently at .3115. This alloy was 6 pounds of hosp. isotope lead, 3 pounds of my old lino, 3 pounds of my WW alloy, dropped from a bottom pour LEE pro 20 220V. Water dropped and then froze for 24 hrs in my freezer. After that they check 22 by filing base smooth and checking with a LEE kit.

I didn't get the crony out for this but will crony these loads and edit in the future. This groups was shot not holding the forend of the rifle, just resting on front bag.

The first group shot was with Acc X-Terminator powder, 28 gr. I have had very good performance with this powder in 222 rem so I gave it a try here. My rifle has shown in the past to liking .312 boolitz so all projectiles were sized and lubed in my 450 with a .312 die using Simple Lube. (edit, cronied @ 2046 FPS 3-16-16 )

The following group was with IMR 4198, 22 gr. a proven performer in this rifle in the past with LEE 309170 FNs and a 311291 clone from an Ohaus mold that I have. after the 3rd shot I tried holding the forend on the bags and that had a very positive result. this light rifle liked to move around when firied. The rifles favorite load in the past has been 28.5 gr of Acc 2520 with either of the above listed projectiles. This powder charge and the Arsenal 30 HVTH 170 gr Sliver didn't disappoint me. WOW my old Stevens likes this boolit and powder charge. In the Past this 28.5 gr of my lot of Acc 2520 has consistently cronyed 1965 FPS from my rifle. I will crony it again with the Arsenal Target Hunting Sliver, but after shooting this many nearly full house loads from the light Stevens 325C I decided I had had enough fun for that day. I also just found my stash of Wolf Large Pistol primers and want to shot some groups with them.

That's an awesome 10 shot group at 100 yards! Very nice.

yeah when you start to see holes appear next to each other but not all together your holding the rifle wrong.

I done this same thing yesterday shooting my 300 bo.
I started getting 3 separate [but equal] groups on the paper and was trying to figure out if it was all one group or not then realized I was changing how I was holding the rifle.
the wind kept shifting and I was trying to keep my hand out of the wind since it was sucking all the heat from my fingers.
but it was affecting where the shots were going.
