Ooooops! I was pretty excited to get a Marble sight this week for the 1873 I bought awhile back. A little while ago I went into my loading room to look for something for another member and I decided to see what was in the Marbles box on the shelf. Been there awhile and I was getting curious. It was a new sight, complete with screws, for an old 1873 (or 1866) Winchester.:bigsmyl2: Been thinking it was for an 1894 or 1892. In a situation like this there's only one thing to do. Lemme see; 32WCF? another 38WCF? maybe even a 44WCF? [smilie=l:

Yes, will be my first WACA show. Will spend a day at the Cody Buffalo Bill Historical Center as well. We'll be passing thru your neck of the woods early 7/8, come with us!

with a Farm/ranch and a full time job, I never am able to plan more than a few days out but it would be fun.

one day at the museum will be just enough time to buy a soda and a hot-dog and look down the hall-way's.
it took us 2 and we kinda rushed the second day and skipped a few things.

Have you installed one of the new Marbles sights on an original 73, I got one and the angle did not seem correct. it points up instead of parallel with the barrel. I contacted marbles and they assured me the numbers were all correct. it also lists them as 18 deg angle but it seems like 21 deg is what would work. curious to know how yours fit.

I was there for two days a few months ago, need to go back and see the new John Moses Browning exhibit and check on a few things I've been reading about since I was there. Come to think of it, my shooting buddy hasn't been there in several years.

Don't know yet, may get a chance to install it tomorrow.

There is a neat little old west town on the west side of town. Most of it was shipped from other parts of the country, but pretty interesting old wagons etc. I believe they have Liver eatin Johnson's grave...also shipped from elsewhere. No rubber tomahawk, fake arrow heads for sale. Kinda fun after going thru the museum.

How's the 38WCF working out? If money were no object I think I would like one in that configuration.

That's right, was closed when I was there this past fall. Hope to make it this trip.

Hope to shoot it next week. Wanted to size & load a few and mount a tang sight tonight but dinner date ran late so will have to try again another time.

At the moment I don't load or cast for the 44WCF. I've seen some nice old Colt SAA's in 44 and a few nice 1873 Winchesters in 44-40 so I should probably consider adding another cartridge but I try to avoid adding "new" cartridges, especially one I don't cast boolits for. Maybe someday.

All you need is a MAV Big Lube boolit mold, 37gr FFG each cartridge, and a set of dies. Come on, now, it's not all that much. I just loaded the ones I shot on my birthday last night.
