What if you didn't have the right dies to load a cartridge but did have various other dies available. What dies could you use to load the cartridge? Any cartridge, any dies? Like using .41 Mag dies to neck size .45 ACP shotshells, what else is doable?

Lots of possibilities, but not many tangible answers to your question. It's kind of like using one die from here or there to do an operation because it is similar enough to what you need to get by.

I use .358 Win Dies to load my .35-303 but you can only neck size the cases and knock out the primers and seat the bullets. I'd rather have a set of .35-303 dies but they cost too much for how much I need to load. So I use these and make do.

45 gap dies will load 45 acp and vice versa. 10mm from 40 sw dies. 357max dies load 357mag/38s. 45lc will load 45/70. Learned that one from a member on here just a few weeks ago.

OR: is that your Bobbed Deuce and a Half in your avatar? I have a friend on 4BTSWAPS.com that built one. It is a serious beast!

WIth a little research in loading manuals you can sometimes find dies that will produce useable ammo from other cartridges. Some times you can completely size sometimes only neck size. depending on the die and case length you may or may not be able to crimp. 45 colt dies and be used to load 45 ACP or auto rim in a pinch. I have loaded 38 suoer with 38 dies or 9mm dies in the past in a pinch. I would think 10mm dies would lod 40 S&W but wouldnt crimp. You need to find right neck size shoulder angle ( or just neck size) and body dia. A 300 win mag die could neck size 30-06 but not the reverse due to body sizes.

Well I own half of it. LOL. Bobbed and lifted 1971 am general m35a2, has 52 inch tires. arb air lockes front and rear, arb front hubs, boycee disc brakes front and rear. Custom fab shock mounts and shocks. Still need to find a M105 trailer to hack up for a bed. It might end up for sale very shortly.

I've used .357 dies and .223 dies to put together .351 WSL ammo, and used the same dies to make 9mm luger.

.45 ACP can be made from .45 Colt and vice-versa, minus roll crimping.
