Stop at the local shop today to BS and a guy walked in with a really, really nice Win 9422 in magnum. This is one of the earlier ones (1973) and the bluing is 100% except for one light scratch on the receiver. Wood is awesome and bore looks new. As we talked, I realized I wanted this for trade fodder in the future and we struck a deal. It is beautiful, nothing is missing, nothing is broken! I plan on trading it in the near future, but I love levers so if I shoot it, I will probably keep it. Will post pics in the next few days if I get time. Good thing 22 magnum ammo isn't plentiful, because I found a place in the safe for it.

I had a close to new one until recently. I let it go to help fund buying a tractor. I'm pretty sure I'll come to regret it even if I do enjoy the new (old) tractor. Those Winchesters are a class act.

If yours shoots as good as mine...you wont get rid of it. Mine loves the 34gr. Winchester load.

Ammo is a bit hard to find but situation seems to be improving. Those are some beautiful rifles.

I had one of those when I was stationed in Texas back in the early 70s. I had a pretty good time with it shooting varmints down there. It was really fit and finished well.
