We had a crappy weather weekend so I decided to make some bullets. I made about 800 of the Lee C-501-440-RF for my paper patch 50 load. I made another 300 of the RCBS 11mm for my paper patch load for my 45. All set for the year. Here are a few of them.

Looking good Ron! That makes my bullet casting session of 60 the other day look WEAK, but I didn't want to make up to many as I am in testing mode with the new .58 cal now, I like the looks of these R.E.A.L. 440 bullets, they casted nice and sharp after I got things up to temp and rolling, Weight was really consistent at 438 grains +/- a grain. I plan on trying the wool felt over powder wads right outa the gate, now just need some decent weather! Sounds like we are getting about the same weather Ron? According to the weather report on my phone it's suppose to rain the next several days, excellent weather if you are a duck! I got the new Lyman 57sml peep sight and the 17aml globe with the Lee shavers card, I really like it! But I did end up switching the 17aml to the 17AHB to get the 57 a bit lower, the aml is .494 and the ahb is .404, I also shimmed the peep a bit and raised the front of it about 35 thousandths as you recommended, I see what you mean by the 57sml leaning forward a bit, shimming it worked perfect! I'm excited to get it out with this new 17AHB globe, im confident it will make the difference I was wanting. I ordered the same setup for my cabelas hawken, except I went with the 17AEU globe for a European dovetail, the 57sml fits this cabelas .58 cal perfect without any modifying of the sight base, I just have to get the tang drilled and tapped, I will shim the front if needed to get it to run even with the barrel. On the renegade I put a 30" straight edge on top of the 57 base and shimmed it to run even with the barrel, worked out really good!

Well done!! A lot of guys neglect to get the 57 to run right. You will be glad you did.

This is by far and away the best open sight system I have messed with! When I first got the 57sml I thought the included Lyman inserts looked great, my Lee shavers card had not arrived yet, when i received the Lee shavers card I was completely shocked at the difference!

You can go just as fast with a top pour as you can the bottom. In some cases faster.
