Anyone doing this? Being close to .41 or 44 mag in case capacity has me thinking. S&B 125's chrono 2500 +/-with small charges of spherical unidentified powder. This is in a CZ 527 not an auto so 35L pressure is no problemo, 50K wold be workable.

I don't load that caliber, but I suspect somewhere around 13 gr should be about right with H110 or 2400.

I've loaded cast for the 7.62x39 for a while and have never used any of those powders. All could probably be made to work, but none would be top choice. The best of the three might be #2400, but it's probably much too fast burning if you are looking for loads in the higher velocity realm. I'm no expert and this is Internet, so if researching doesn't provide data for the powders listed, call Hodgdon on the 296 /H110 and Alliant on the #2400 for best advice. Good luck-

I saw some where that a guy blew I up his x39 with h110 trying to use 44 mag data because of the similar case volume, I have also read you can load it with h110 but the safe charge was somewhere around 10 grains, I would be more comfortable referencing 300blk load data but I would tread lightly as h110 is not a forgiving powder to experiment with. On the high or the low end. If I recall core try the h110 loading was trying to achieve a load that would cycle a semi auto with sub sonic velocities. Probably better powder options if trying to get 2500 fps, good luck tho you'll find most x39 loads top out around 2300 fps due to case volume.

Go to the practical dope on the 7.62x 39 sticky at the top of this sub forum has data for 2400 I wouldn't use H110 or 296 in reduced amounts

You can NEVER directly correlate load data when case capacity is similar when caliber and bearing surface are NOT.

I'm having good results usind AA-2230 and H-322 in the X39, behind the NOE/Ranch Dog TLC-313-150 boolit--1.25" @ 100 yds on my first trial load.

How in the world would one use 44mag data?? The average bullet in 44 mag is twice as heavy, never mind a completely different bore size.

Also W296 / H110 (same thing) doesn't like to be loaded light. I burn a lot of it in blackout & it is an awesome powder when pushed at the top. Not so much on the lighter (subsonic) loads.

WW-1680 and IMR-H 4198 are the two powders that work best for me! I'm shooting two palmetto uppers in 7.62x39 and i'm getting good accuracy with lead gas check bullets. with jackened bullets(.310 dia) (from a bench rest) I can get under an inch at 100 yards, and with .308 123gr bullet just under 2 inches at 100 yards. with lead gaschecks Im getting 2-3 inches at 50 yards with the above powders. all the loads will work the action of my AR's.
