Which digital scale are you using to weigh boolits?

Does it have the capacity to weigh 500 grain boolits?

How much did it cost?

Would you buy another?

Thanks in advance,

I use the RCBS 750. It can go up to 750 grains, so it basically can do all your work as far as reloading is concerned.
Be careful with cheap scales, you get what yo pay for.
The cheap battery only operated ones have a nasty "auto off" function that mostlly cannot be switched off and this is very irritating, so at least get one that operates from the mains with a power supply.

BallistiScale-1500 digital scaleNow with a larger powder panBPI ballistic technicians designed the BallistiScale-1500 with the reloader in mind. Besides being packed with all the necessary features, our scale is America's best value for a high quality compact digital scale. Our laboratory technicians know that a reliable digital scale is an absolute necessity for accurate reloading; no competent reloader should be without one. We wouldn't put our name on a scale and back it with a 10-year warranty unless we believed in it. No other scale has more features and no scale can compete against this value. Why a digital scale?
Once you've used a digital scale, you'll wonder what you ever did without it. No fumbling with beams, no lost heartbeats while waiting for a beam scale to settle. Big LCD backlit readout for those of us with "experienced" eyes. When technology offers a better tool, take advantage of it. Your loads and your sport deserve it.

Features:

Capacity: 1543 grains (over 3-1/2 ounces)
Accuracy: 0.1 grain
Stainless steel platform
Large, easy-to-read LCD backlight display
Self-contained, hinged cover
Includes large powder pan & calibration weight
Runs on two AA batteries (included)
Weighs in four different modes: grain, gram, oz & ct

Jmort, thanks, decent price range and does what I need. This was what I needed to know.

I measure each and every charge for everything but the M1 Carbine on my RCBS 10-10 and I am happy with that arrangement. I do not want to weigh boolits on a balance beam, that seems like the ultimate drudgery and seems like it would be painfully slow.

BPI BallistiScale-1500 Digital Scale
I had reservations but it works very well in all applications.
Occasionally, I cross check it with a beam scale and no problems.

I inherited 2 digital powder scales from a friend.

One is the RCBS 750 grain Rangemaster and the other is a 10 year old Dillon D Terminator - 900 grain capacity.

Both work well for weighing cases and bullets.

I also use them for setting a powder measure. I will weigh 10 charges in the pan.

However I do not use the digital scales to weigh individual charges of powder. I only do that with a beam scale.

You always get what you pay for, or a little less...

Confessional Time: Bless me Father, for I have sinned. I shoot more coated bullets than boolits.

My 257 Banshee runs 110gr VLD's right at 3900fps. I can get boolits to vaporize 100% of the time. Sometimes inside the barrel.

Anyway, I have been using a bit pricier electronic scale to weigh charges. It reads to .01gr. The less expensive that claim to read to .1gr actually read to +/- .1gr. So, that one-tenth readout is actually up to .3gr spread.
The one I settled on, after seeing them used for Bench Rest and PRS (Precision Rifle Shoots, out to 1200yds) is the MyWeigh GEM PRO 500 sold at www.scaleman.com. On sale for $145 or so.
The sales number is 1-978-521-7095 for anyone interested. Every manufacturer strongly suggests getting one with an AC Adopter, finding a spot and plugging them in. The next day, calibrate them, and recalibrate frequently. Leave them on, and find a way to isolate them from your environment. NO plastic, use a glass pan.

My Banshee is fussy to reload for, but I like shooting 10-shot groups at 300 yards 1moa.

I can drop one grain of 4350 onto the tray and watch the scale move.

I tried a 'cheap' junk Chinaman scale too…never could get it to agree with the RCBS auto dispenser scale or especially the 'beam' scale. If the scales don't validate each other then there is a problem somewhere…but where…the beam scale can't lie so it is the standard for those little 'digital liars' for validation.
The cheapo digital is gathering dust and angry looks on a shelf where it ain't likely to move for this next decade or so!

This has a bit to do about 'quality' in loading but I see it primarily as a 'safety' quality standard…you 'need to know' your propellant weight…otherwise we could all save money and go back to the 'little yellow dippers'.

This is not an invitation for attack by the 'little yellow dipper crew'.

John Boy, do you have one? I see nothing there that distinguishes between gm and gr.
