Ah, a beautiful Smelting Day.

Spring is when I do my smelting on my porch. But today, with temps in the low 60's was just too good to pass up. Smelted 57# of pure and 16# of COWW. Unfortunately, upstate NY comes back to reality weather-wise tomorrow.:-(

Did the same with 100 lbs of jacketed range scrap!

I cast in the garage and shoot in my back yard.it was to windy to shoot so it was a casting day.And yes reality come mid week here

I went to the range today and tested some loads and worked with a new chronograph. Getting ready to get the convertable out of the garage so I can set up the pot and do some real casting.

I melted 285 pounds of range scrap today. Only ended up with 186 pounds

I made a nice pile of ingots.
Reduced the odds and ends to something useful and clean :-)

I fired up the rendering pot as well. I had about 120# of range scrap and reject boolits in the pot when I started and I ended up with 100# of ingots. Man there was a lot of dirt and rocks in that batch!163086
