What do you Ole Timers use to slug a 40 cal barrel with? My old .357 shoots great with my cast boolits, so I don't worry about it. The diameter of these 40 cals are suspect.
Thanks and have a blessed day,
Leon

I use a soft lead slug made by melting soft sinker weights in an empty 40S&W case using a torch. That way it is only slightly larger than the barrel. You can get the slug out of the case after it solidifies with an inertial bullet puller.
I use the appropriate cartridge case for the gun I am going to slug. This technique works with all straight walled pistol cases.
Just remember to lube the slug before you drive it through the barrel.

Thanks, exactly what I was looking for. One of those: "Why didn't I think of that" moments.
Have a blessed day.
