Hey fellas. A couple months ago I bought a 22 long rifle Winder musket for use in rimfire cowboy silhouette games. I still haven't shot it yet.

It has a nice peep sight on it adjustable for elevation and for windage. I wonder if there are any short cuts for determining come-ups for the various distances, 40, 50, 75 and 100 meters? Or I guess I can go to the range and shoot at those various distances and arrive at actual sight settings.

Thanks in advance.

With about every standard velocity through my 2 rifles with a 40 meter zero, it's 2 MOA to 60, 2 MOA more to 77 and 4 MOA more to 100. So, it's a total of 8 MOA from 40 to 100. The cant on my scope base is setup to be centered at 77 meters, so I'm only 4 MOA down at 40 and 4 MOA up at 100, so the .25 MOA clicks are accurate

The cant on my scope base is setup to be centered at 77 meters,
If 'cant' is not used to describe a lean to the left or right, what does 'cant on my scope base' mean?

Thanks fellas. 2, 2 and 4. Should be easy enough to remember.

The sight is offset from alignment with the bore of the rifle. Canted

The scope base has a slope milled in it (front to back) so the rear is taller so that when the scope is at optical center the standard velocity 22lr ammo will be zeroed at 77 meters. When your near the end of a scopes adjustment range, MOST scopes are no longer at their specified adjustment value. Such as .25 moa clicks no longer move the crosshair 1/4" at 100 yards.
