Hi
I recently bought a Uberti 1876 chambered for the 45-75 Winchester round.

I ordered off EBay the RCBS 56559 set of Dies today which are said to be in used.

My concern is there were two sizes of chamber in the Uberti 1876.

Mine is the smaller original chamber as in the original Winchester model. I know this because I have a contact who has my same model but one serial number consecutively less. He confirmed by mold it's the normal and NOT the enlarged chamber of Uberti.

In the RCBS dies there is a cheaper Legacy die.

I am not clear if my dies are correct for what I have and why my dies new are special order and cost five times more than the legacy die.

Did I make a mistake. I will only be using 45-75 brass. No case forming. Will my dies work? Or are they for the larger Uberti 45-75?
Thanks in advance for clarifying.

I just looked the article over but cannot find any mention about variations within the 45-75 line.
My concern is did RCBS only make the dies for the true 45-75 or is there a Uberti version. Mine is the true 45-75 dimensions.

This photo shows the Uberti enlarged chamber in 45-75 vs the normal original chamber. Somewhere along the line Uberti reverted to the original chamber. The one on the left is the true original 45-75 chamber I am told.
The real dilemma is did RCBS follow the original only?

you have to look further down. it says the 45-75 case is larger than the 45-70 by .059 at the base and .003 larger at the neck.

Send an email to RCBS customer service. They should clear it up for you.
