I have an Encore blue pistol in .308 that I will list later this month. It is as new with 15 rounds thru the pipe. Way too much pistol for my old hands. I bought it 15 years ago on a whim. It has a Thompson Center 2-7 Scope, the iron sights and a shooting systems case. It is like new! What would you guys think a fair price would be to ask?? Thanks, Rod

There's a used SS 308 with box on GB. He's asking $780. Looks like blued 308 barrels are going around $250.

Joe, For a complete (and new) pistol with optics and a case, I'm sure you mistyped the $280. My local GS offered me $500 and I know he will make a profit on it. I just needed an idea of what to list it for on the forum and be fair. Thanks for your reply, Rod

Probably about 200 for barrel plus 1/2 the value of scope when new, SO about 250-275 maybe ask 300. If you want to sell it. You can ask 400 if you want to keep it...
Asking an Sell'n are 2 different things

Are you selling frame too?

Yes bearcove, the whole pistol. Scope, rings, mount, pistol, and soft padded shooting systems case. I really hadn't meant to sell till last week in Feb. but a local guy offered me $550, and the local GS$500. I just thought I needed to get some input. Thanks, Rod

just a thought but keep the frame and scope and trade or sell your 308 barrel and look for a more manageable barrel or have one made or you could turn it into a rifle

Thanks for the input guys. I just sold it to a real nice guy in the bay area. I'm glad someone will take it out and exercise it. Rod

Rod pm me on 3/16 and we'll hammer out a deal,I have 4 encores and 3 contenders plus a couple dozen barrels would you be interested in a barrel trade to something smaller with lighter recoil?your dealer was about right with his offer, hard to believe the Encore is that old now:holysheep

Way too much pistol for my old hands.
I would think that the solution was to just develop you some less powerful loads for the .308 cartridge. Something subsonic, perhaps?

Well, the guy who bought it says he is going to go 44 mag with it and just maybe play with the .308. Thanks guys for the replies, Rod
