going to an auction. they have a martini cadet action. what do you think it would be a good piece?

I think it would make a nice .22 hornet.

I got my last one for $200 and it had some new wood with it.

They also make a sweet 218 bee. I think when I bought my rifle ( mid 80s) I gace $125.00 for a complete martini cadet with original wood on it. They can be built up into a really nice stalking rifle. Light compact and accurate

Wow, BA--I'm aghast at your fine display of Martinis! Why don't you give us a top to bottom list of specifics like caliber? Or maybe, since you're down under, go from bottom to top! Obviously the Aussie Govt. doesn't mind you having single shot rifles. Top photo looks like a loose stock on top of the pile. Are you doing some of the custom work yourself? Love to hear (read?) about it.

Wallace, I commented on your collection several years back and I STILL marvel at the depth of it!

After I saw your collection the first time, I did a fair amount of research on the cadet rifle and 310 cadet heeled-base boolit and casting for it. I've looked for one for a bit, but no dice yet...

i think a cadet in 38 spl or 357 would be spectacular, but the 310 seems pretty neat as well.

All ASTO PHISYCITS agree, the home of our good friend from down under is the black hole of Martini rifles. I managed to grab these two before they were forever sucked in. The top one started life as a British Army weapon. I don't know the maker. Probably Greener. My friend turned it into what you see. I have no idea why. He put a beautiful Barrie Darr heavy barrel in 32-40 on it and then had then had an offhand stock attached. It makes a great off hand rifle if you are a weight lifter. The beast weighs over fourteen pounds. The bottom rifle is of course a cadet rifle. I bought it with the intention of making it a 218 Bee. The bore of the barrel on it is bright and shiny. I never got around to making it a 218Bee. A few years ago a man gave me some cast bullets to try in it. The rifle has been bored out to 32-20 by the way. The bullets produced a fantastic group at fifty yards. I have no idea what mold cast the bullets or who made it.
