The sheer joy those engineers showed when they got the signals and the photos brought tears to my eyes. To have worked that long and that hard and to see success................

Very cool. Many years of pains-taking work, and success. We have one rover on Mars, Opportunity,
which has been working since Jan 2004, so it has passed 12 years! It had an original design life of
90 days.

I think we got our money's worth on that one! This one, I think, was Curiosity, landed in 2012.

Anyhow, more power to those folks. Well done!
