I cast that boolit from wheel weights and bar solder.I was able to recover one from the dirt after firing. It retained 100% weight, only a slight scuff mark,no mushrooming at all.I think that is too hard of lead, should it not have deformed some?Should I soften the alloy?

Thompson Center Scout, the one that I have posted about on various occasions.Didn't mean to leave you hanging, but got to playing around with those picture. That took all my concentration.90 grains, the boolit is 240/.430 Lee .44 with a Knight sabot.

I think wheel weight is too hard for deer. A guy could make a case for bullets that hard for elk or Moose, maybe buffalo, but the weight would need to be heavier. I would not go any harder than 30-1 or 9 BHN. that is just my opinion and only worth what you paid for it. Ron
