Why derim 22 LR. brass for swageing 6mm bullets? Is this to make jacket longer?

Think it saves headaches later, plus I don't think you could press the desired Boolit diameter and length by compressing a jacket full of lead without tons and tons of pressure.

If sized would the area of the rim affect accuracy?

The rim on a 22lr case is about .257, a 6 mm bullet closer to .243.
But why over work the brass?
It would be a pretty nice operation that brought the whole case/jacket to an out side diameter of .240-.241. in one step.

Make a few bullets without derimming and let us know how it works.

Not trying to be a smartaleck here but, you really have to understand the process of turning rimfire brass to jackets and then to bullets. It's because you have to. The rim has to be ironed out flat the size of the rest of the jacket.

The rim has to be ironed out flat the size of the rest of the jacket. Then as the jacket is swage for 22 cal or 6mm bullets the rim disappears? What size punch or pin for making 6mm bullets. I am thinking .224 to .226 ?
