Been putting a lot of effort into loads for above pistol, and have several loads with 124/125gr SWC/CN/RNFP at around the 1050 fps mark, and all are shooting about 2" or so lower than POA at 7m. Grouping is tight...

The question looking at, is the sights set-up on the MK11. Rear sight is 0.100"above rib, front sight is 0.125" above rib. Add 0.050 for height above top of slide for both.

As can be seen the sighting plane (POA), with relatively lower rear sight, is rising above barrel axis, and worsens the longer the range. The rear sight is 0.025"lower than the front sight...

From what can see with the Colt 1911, the average sight heights are about 0.240" at rear and 0.200" at front, the opposite of the BHP mk11. This allows for the sighting plane to meet the barrel axis and the POI to rise above the POA as distance increases.

Many years ago had a BHP T-series with fixed sights, and had to file down the front sight to get POA=POI with the RCBS 124cn cast bullet.

I would rather not mess with mk11 front sight as is machined as part of rib and very solid!

Anyone with thought or experience with BHP mk11 would be welcome!

Two options come to mine that don't require filing the original front sight down.

1. A higher rear sight if that is possible. A 2" elevation correction at 22 feet (7 meters) should compute out to about 28 MOA or around a .05" higher rear sight.

2. You could also try the 146 grain 9mm boolits and see if that raises your point of impact or zero up to your aiming point.

I have a Mk III circa 1990 or so and I, as you already know, have more leeway in getting it to zero.

Currently saving for a new Mk. III right now...

You're on the right track Ferguson. Still, I wouldn't pass up a Mk II either.

The zero for this Mk III is for 115 grain JHPs. The cast 125 grain truncated cone cast boolits of my reloads go about 2" high and left at 25 yards. 10 shots of 125 grain cast @ 25 yards in the photo below.

I would be very interested in the actual measures for front and rear sights - top of slide to top of sights on the Mk111.

Also the height of rear sight on its own - bottom of dovetail to top of sight.

Anybody tried fitting the Sig P320 compact rear sight to a Browning High Power - T series or Mk11 ? The Dawson charger black sight also looks like a possible option?
