My 527 is chambered in .223 but was extremely easy to get cast shooting very well . I don't see any reason why the larger caliber would be hard and I'm sure you would like the class of the CZ .

I shoot cast in my 527 CARBINE. Lots of info. On that topic here. Search.

I love my 527 in 7.62x39. Haven't tried casting for it yet but the steel case stuff shoots just under 2" at 100 yards reliably for me.

There is a gentleman who used to post here (he may still do so) who would post targets showing an overlapping one hole result at 100 yards from 5 lead rounds out of a 527 7.62x39. I recall he used a Lee mold and probably H335. I also recall a long thread on the Ruger here and lots of people liked them.

Picking one or the other is not a bad problem to have.

I looked at my notes and the fellow who was getting the great results with the CZ 527 was excess650 (http://castboolits.gunloads.com/member.php?10706-excess650) who has been banned from this forum. I have notes of what he was using (mold, powder, alloy, sizing) so if you decide for the 527 PM me and I'll forward his writings. He was getting one big hole at 100 yards with cast. He told me that he never shot jacketed out of it and I responded with results like he was getting why would he shoot jacketed?
