A buddy of mine is coming up in a couple of months and he has 3 357s we want to shoot. What would be a good Lee mold to pick up for this venture. I will probably just get a 2 holer as this is just a once in a while deal. Have not checked my loading manuals yet but anybody got a favorite load just for punching paper?
Thanks,

I like the Lee 358-158-RF for both handguns and rifles.

For normal(100 yard or less) paper punching I use Unique to give about 1300 fps from the rifles. Sorry, I don't have the exact load data handy and I make a point of not 'memorizing' powder charges.

Personally, I would use either the 358-158-RF mentioned above or the TL358-158- SWC. I would load them in 38 special cases and use light loads(3.0-3.3 grains) of Bullseye, WST, or Titegroup.
These are easy on the hands and ears, easy on the pocketbook, and are quite accurate in most guns.

Hadn't thought about that at all...putting them in 38 special cases. Didn't know that was a possibility.

The only pistol loading I have ever done is 9 and 45.

38 special case is a shorter case than 357 mag but is otherwise the same size, and will fit and shoot in a 357 mag chamber. The brass is significantly cheaper, the loads are lower pressure, and use less powder. They are also quite accurate used that way.
For target use or just plain fun shooting, it is hard to beat the 38 special loads.
