Well I cut down a Lee .457 405 Hollow Base mold last week because that mold didnt cast well for me.
Now it makes these little guys for my 45lc/454, but they actually cast at .458 so they could be used in my 45-70 also, I sized them to .452.

I havent shot to many of them yet to get a good load but so far from what I have tested:
1. They hit the target square
2. Seem to be accurate 3" off hand at 25 yards with the scope on 1.5x
3. They sure open up, I found on in the back stop that was about the size of a quater.
This could be THE bullet for hunting white tail at close range and or a tag along on a fall bow bear hunt.
I shot them with 9.5gr of Unique in 454 cases, but I will have to try them out with some other powders and maybe 45lc cases.
Anyone have any load suggestions, these are shot out of my Ruger SRH, and will be going down a 16.5" 45-70 barrel in the future.
