Restoring an 03A3

I had loaned an old 03A3 to my brother in law years ago and I just got it back.
It's a Remington with the 2 groove barrel so I'm sure it will shoot boolits. When I bought it someone had put a sporter stock on it but left the metal alone.

I'd like to restore it to as issued condition. Does anyone have a favorite place to obtain service grade wood?

Try DuPage Trading in Chandler Arizona. They have a website but not everything is on there so call. They do have the front portion of the stock that is normally chopped off when a gun is sporterized so you might be able to use this as the joint is hidden under a barrel band. They should also have some stocks available.
There is a forum on the CMP website and there are usually a few stocks on there.

Boyd's should have new wood for this rifle.

CMP has the stocks. I got a C stock for mine and it was a drop in fit. It has the CMP cartouche on it.

I made it up to a local gun shop today that deals in a lot of military stuff. He had 2 complete 03a3s on the rack for sale along with a lot of other Garands and stuff. He said he thought he has a stock set at home he'll just have to find a matching handguard. He was saying the colors should match. I get that.
I'm thinking that if he doesn't come up with something by next week I might just go pick up one of the other rifles and shoot the one I have as is.

Original 03a3 stocks are a dime a dozen on ebay. They also have inspectors stamps.

I decieded to keep the converted rifle I have and bought another full military model. I found a Smith Corona made 8/43.

What store? All the gun stores here on the east side are unsatisfying as far as I can see. I need to see a rack of used guns.

Dow Arms room in Dade City. When I bought mine he had 2 03a3's, an M1 Garand, an M1 D ( I think) several Swiss 11mm rifles. There were other older rifles there as well but I kind of had tunnel vision.

Rustylee Smith Coronas are sweet pieces.
Only thing to watch out for on them is the trigger guard is stamped differently and the
Markings are different.

I have 2 03a3's a Sporter that has all the original metal. It was just put into a walnut sporter stock by a previous owner it is a 2 groove Remington.
The other that I just got is a Smith Corona that is in as issued configuration. It is also a 2 groove barrel.
I took my son out and he got to shoot the sporter for the first time today. He fell in love with it.
