It seems like the 200 grain RCBS 35 Remington boolit is very well respected. Would it work in a Marlin 357 cowboy gun?

Absolutely. Give it a try.

it will work if you single load col is to long when loaded in 357 or 38 special cases exceeding 1.605 col the recommended max col for a un modfied marlin. however i have shot at least 5000 rcbs 200fngc in 357 mags with excepional accuracy it is in my opinion the most accurate 357 cast bullet and i have 4 other 180 grain moulds and 3, 158 grain moulds , i have gotten several 1 inch 5 shot groups at 100 yards from a rpm xl pistol , and a 25 shot group at 100 yards of 2 1/4 inches

Crabo,

Nope... It's this one (http://www.grafs.com/product/195928) from Grafs. I don't see the .357 mold at Midway.

Yeah, I don't think a .349 would work very well.

I have a 200 grain PB mtn mold I am starting to work with and it is shooting 1 inch groups at 50 yards.I think it will do even better when I try some heat treated boolits. The air cooled boolits would work well enough at woods ranges and 13.5 grains H-110 shoots the best. The groups are up and down and only half inch wide. The 158-swc mold I just got from RCBS looks very well made and I'm tempted too get the 180-SIL mold but have a 185 GC mold that is very accurate in my marlin also so don't really need it.I have had good luck with RCBS molds and the new ones have been excellent and they stand behind their product.

200 grain-class boolits can work WONDERFULLY in 357 Magnum firearms. I have the heavier Lyman #358430 (195 grain blunt RN) that has been lights-out accurate in just about every 38 Special and 357 Magnum revolver I've tried it in--and would feed well in the Marlin 94/Win 92-clone leverguns, I would think. These even worked well in 38 S&W when fattened via Beagling and loaded for the S&W M&P and Webley-Enfield. Not the most efficient game-taking profile ever birthed, but if it were soft-pointed I'll bet it would shine brightly for deer at closer ranges appropriate for the 357 Magnum.

Ranch Dog will have his TLC 359 190 available this fall. 6 pt sika and some others have done some testing...jump in and enlighten us further! As well as he's done his "homework" on other designs, I'm waiting impatiently for this boolit.

Drop him an email...and get in line behind me and a bunch of others for this boolit in a six cavity LEE mould.

His TLC 432 265 has been the most accurate boolit in my 1894 Cowboy 44s so far. I'm finally getting time to start playing with loads, lube, etc. and the mud is starting dry on the back yard range.

The thing that is turning me off about the Ranch Dog Bullets is the whole Alox thing. I have a Star sizer and it seems like Alox is a step backwards. But I don't see how I could use a Star with all the shallow grooves unless it would work with all the lube holes unplugged in the sizing die.

Anyone tried a Star with the Ranch Dog Bullets?

BTW, my lever gun is a Win 94 in 357 mag that I reamed out to 360 Dan Wesson, and it still shoots the 357 mag cases with that 200gr boolit lights out accurate.

I replied over on the other sub forum. I'm using a .432 die for the STAR that is a less than .0005 undersize, with the center holes open on TLC 432 265. It has worked well...so well I haven't tried the XLOX I ordered from LARS. I expect the same for the 359 190 when it arrives.

Mike does his homework really well. I can't see any problems with his designs. I may even try some other Tumble Lube LEE moulds, based on my good experience so far.

I actually sold my sizing equipment and went back to tumble lubing.
I use a 50/50 mix of JPW and liquid alox that's been thinned with mineral spirits.
I've pushed boolits to 1800+ fps from my 7mm08 lubed this way.
I've pushed 320 grain 45 cal hammer boolits to 1550 fps from the 16" barrel of my trapper lubed this way also.
I fired 250 200 grain TLSWC's from my 1911 last saturday lubed this way, without any apparent leading.
I don't pretend to fully understand all the mechanisms at play here, but I do know it works for me.
I've heard all the horror stories about seating dies plugging up with gobs of alox and changing loaded OAL's, but in roughly 3 or 4 thousand rounds lubed this way I just haven't seen it. I'm guessing most people who have this problem are using WAY too much alox.
And to the original question. My 357 rossi carbine and 357 max contender both LOVED the RCBS 200 grainer loaded over 9.5 grains of 2400.
