Gal I married was country with a little rock, so I have been exposed for a long time. Garth grew up not too far from where I lived and went to the same college, just right after me.
I had listened to some country with other girlfriends, and about a year after being married a song came on the radio that I knew, so I started singing along with it. Thought my wife was going to run off the road she was so shocked. She hollered that she never knew I listenend to country music, I told her "you never asked".

'went to the same college, just right after me'

which means we went to the same college, but I went at the same time Garth was there (and 20,000 other students). Actually went to few parties he was at, not that he would know me. Go Pokes.

Kinda off subject, but I met the real Pistol Pete when I was about 8 y.o. in Perkins. My Dad was a friend of his. This would have been about 1949 if IRC. Even then I realized he wasn't a large man. But was still very intimidating. CR
