I will post this in the Wanted to Buy Section shortly, but because fellas seem to skip over some posts there, I am asking for some help here, too. I recently came into a very nice 1871 Mauser, NOT a 71/84. It is in very nice shape with one caveat that is a biggie! I don't have a bolt. I am hoping someone here either has an extra or knows where one is available. Even bolt parts would help. Thank you for your time.

Try Spring field Sporters.

Have you tried some of the importers? I don't remember who was importing those years ago, but they might have parts.

Of course the missing bolt might cost what you paid for the rifle, too.

I'd try Century, Sarco, or Simpsons first.

Give Gun Parts corp a call; here is a link to the 1871 parts that they have in stock...sometimes they have more if you call them https://www.gunpartscorp.com/Manufacturers/Mauser-33384/Rifles-37349/71SingleShot-39195.htm

Might try Liberty Tree Collectors also. There is another place that had some parts awhile back but my computer had problems and I lost the info. I'll look around and see if I can find it.

Sarco has some 71/84 parts listed but a call to them might turn up something.

Gibbs Rifle Company imported the 71/84 and refurbished them for the movie The Last Samurai. Ross Seyfried, in his June 2002 article in Handloader Magazine stated that Gibbs also had some 71s. Gibbs and Old West Scrounger are owned by the same people so try both for parts.

Thank you gentlemen. I have found some of the parts, but I am looking for the rest. A friend put a "want ad" on another two or three forums. Eventually I'll find the rest of the parts.

The parts I am still needing are a firing pin, bolt head, and extractor. I understand from one a member that I can substitute the firing pin spring from an O3 Springfield spring. TIA.

I need a band spring for my 71 Mauser so I am going to watch that auction. I would sell off the rest of the parts or if someone here buys it I would buy the band spring from them.
