First try HI TEK

Well finaly got everything set up and gave the HI TEK method a try. I'm using Bayou powder with acetone using there directions.
I ended up doing 5 coats to get were I wanted, but will admit every coat was very thin maybe to thin but can always add more next time around.

What mix are you using and which color of powder?
I have different powders from Donnie and only use 2 to 3 coats. I mix 125 ml to 20 grams for most coats and use 5 ml to 6 ml per 4.7 lb of boolits.

This coating really works great once you get your process figured out, I went through a lot of failures before I got it right.

It was zombie green, used 2 tables spoons of powder with 3.5oz of acetone. It did say 2~3 table spoons of powder I can always add more powder to it.

You should get complete coverage in 2 coats (3 max). Maybe its just the pic but yours look a bit on the dark side. Bullets should be slippery and shiny with zombie green. Here are mine after 2 coats.

Yep, mine look the same as Andre's. I'm still fine-tuning my processes, but it's really not that hard to get good, usable results. I'm very impressed with the product, it works well.

The darkness might had been from my acetone, it had a color to it(slight purple when pouring). I still think the extra tablespoon of powder would have made the coverage better. Next round of testing will be later today or Sunday.

Acetone should be clear and darker color is from longer baking times, doesn't hurt the coating just makes it darker.

How much coating are you applying to the amount of boolits? I use 5 ml to 6 ml of coating for 4.5 lb to 4.7 lb of boolits.

3.5 oz of acetone is about 110 ml which is good for 20 grams of powder, you might weigh your powder on a reloading scale, 20 grams is 309 grains. check to see what 2 table spoons of powder weigh.
