Trade with a true gentleman here and ended up with a BFR 475Linebaugh 7.5. Well the dies, shell holder,NOE mold475-375 and sizer came in. Got time to clean the mold and cast some booklets. Casted out of 22 range lead and some tin they came out at 390gr. Started out loading 10gr of Unique for a light load. This load is like shooting 38 wadcutters. The next load I tried was 21gr of IMR 4227. This load is just a little bit hotter and very fun and accurate. We shoot this at 50yds and was hitting a 8" steel plate with ease. Shoot 80 rounds in two range trips. The next load to try will be 23gr of IMR 4227. I having so much fun with this gun my SRH 454 may have to find a new home!

Keep the SRH. More guns = better! ALWAYS!

Never said I was going to not replace it with something else!

Naw, put the gun to work with a 420 gr with 26 gr of 296. A 392 gr LBT will take 26.5 gr.
i don't fool with 4227 at all. hs-6 will make a lighter load with accuracy.
Make lead harder, WD WW boolits.

Sounds like you are having FUN Clint.
Maybe we can get together sometime, we could exercise my .480's at the same time.

Sounds to try like a plan! I like the BFR grip so much better then the SRH. But wish Ruger had it too. Would make life easier. Got my Noe 480-375 mold you want some try?

I have a BFR in 475 also and it is more fun than a barrel of monkeys. And it is a hand full with the 296 loads but heck that is what it was made for in the first place. Have fun.

With 5-6 lbs of IMR 4227 will stick with it till it not working. The next batch is loaded with 23gr with Noe 480-375. Removed the Grip and was surprised to see that the grip is marked Ruger SBH. I thought that it was a different grip frame?

Ruger makes all the parts except the barrel which is a badger.
Most every deer is dead in it's tracks with the caliber.
