Hi Gents,
i`ve been casting a lot of different Bullets since a lot of years

Due to my limited Range i never weight my cast bullets in the past seriously.

last week i weight a batch of 50 Postel Bullets i have cast with my soft Alloy an a bit Tin i use regulary
(Roof Lead ) thinking it is a 30:1 Mix

results for 50 Bullets are a Difference only +/ - 1 grain

But the scale shows 490 grs. grossweight only and this for a 535 grs Bullet so far the information on the Mouldbox tells.
mayby there exist any 490 grs versions of the Postell Bullet.

with 1:20 alloy my lyman #457132 would drop at 532 grains and size at .458".

i have since moved on to a baco 525 grain money bullet that drops at 522 grains and sizes at .4585".

using locking mold handles, all bullets drop in a weight range no more than +/- .5 grain.

Have you checked your scale to make sure it is right? Other than that your roof lead isn't pure or you are adding a lot more tin than you think. My Postels drop on the heavy side of that number because that number is based on #2 alloy which has other lighter alloys added besides tin.
Like you I am using roof flashing lead and 40/60 bar solder to get my 20-1 and they will cast at about 537gr or so. I don't weigh my lead when mixing just add 1lb ingots so the mix isn't exactly precise except the tin added. In playing around I have gotten bullets as light as 527gr but 490gr is a long way from 535gr.

I'd pour some different metals into it for starters. It's almost certainly spec'd out for Lyman #2, & wheelweights are also worth a go. With a slug that big, the ingredient percentage differences can add up to a big change in a hurry. Never hurts to double check the scale as well.

I love this bullet in my 45-110. I don't compete, so alloy is close to Lyman # 2. I ladle, then wait 60 seconds before openining. Perfect every time and weighing about 538 gns. Bought my mold new last yr. comes out at 460, size to 459. Pan lube with SPG.
