Am getting along in years and load & shoot all gauges shotgun; most recently back into metallics to shoot with some even older pals who can't shotgun anymore. Loving it! Using a new Summit press and already thinking 550b and getting nice cast 38 from Dardas in MI and coated 38 & 41 from Bayou. What is best source for cast rifle ... 22 & 30 cal? Just don't have time or room now to cast my own.

Look on MidwayUSA and similar places. I can't cast just now (no place to do it) and I've found some excellent cast boolits on Midway (good price-- not as good as casting but lower than jacketed). Hunter Supply boolits work very good for me, also Meister. There are others I haven't tried yet that I'll bet are just as good or better, but these two have consistent quality and good dimensions. I've been buying 30 cal and 32 WS-- don't know about 22 cal

I look at design of the boolit. I don't buy bulk stuff with tapered bases.
Cast Precision, Buffalo Bore, Double Tap and those mentioned here. I never buy swaged boolits either.
I lost the need to ever buy again if I want a special boolit since I make my own molds for what I need.
You should start casting your own, start up is not expensive and will pay for itself in no time.

You might also consider swapping and trading here.... I've seen some of the finest cast boolits ever poured come from members of this site! If you've got some good trade bait laying around...I dare say there isn't a mould made that someone here doesn't have.

Most people think of Berry's for plated (and they make some nice plated); but they also do well with hard cast.

As always, price per unit gets better with volume. Orders over $75 ship free.

Hi,
Meister Bullets sells 30 caliber, but not 22. I always had good luck with their product. Another good source, as mentioned above is, Missouri Bullet Company.

Rim rock makes some good looking cast bullets. I'm pretty sure they offer several diameters in each caliber too.
That's the main thing. Making sure they fit your bore or throats in your revolver.

I buy 45 cal pistol bullets from Penn. I get great accuracy and no leading out of my 45 ACP's. I haven't tried their 30 cal bullets, but I suspect that they would perform with equal satisfaction. Very well priced too.

I've ordered from a company called ACME bullet with great results before casting my own. They sell 30 cal but not 22. Also I've ordered pistol bullets from bayou, order up 100 of them and see how they work for you, they're real cheap so there isn't much to lose. Then you wont be stuck with a ton of them if they don't workout for some reason.. good luck. Gun shows also arent a bad place to look for bullet heads.

Dardas claims to provide cast bullets for many of the top competitive shooters. Will try Montana; nice selection; thank you!
