I was looking for any loads using this boolit with a gc in a savage axis .308. I will be using wheel weights and would like to stick with H4895 as that is what I use across the board for a majority of my reloading. Thank you in advance

I use #314299, basically the same bullet as you're using, just a little fatter. I've experimented a lot with various diameters and find, at least in my rifle, that a .311" wheelweight bullet is slightly more accurate than a .310". Your rifle may be different, but generally a .310" or .311" will shoot best. Best accuracy has been with with Reloder 7 and 5744, but have also had good results with H4895.

With either Hodgdon, IMR or military salvage pulldown 4895 I have found 30 grains works well with #311299 or #31429 in any of my milsurp rifles, .30-40 Krag, 7.62, .303 British, 7.62x54R, .30-'06. Good place to start in anything.

What does your bullet weigh with gc in place?

I haven't had time to get any cast, I'm hoping this weekend I will. I'll keep you posted on that

What kind of velocity is that giving you in the 303 British & the 7.62x54R?

My 314299 boolits weigh 208 grains with lube and gas check. Of course my mould is supposedly .003" larger than your 311299 and your alloy and individual mould will vary the weight somewhat.
