Has anyone used any of this to tumble coat? I've got a source who can get me leftovers for free. He brought me 4-5 pounds this morning.

The product code is PBS860022 and its black.

Also, this stuff is 3.5 years old. Will that hurt anything? Thanks

No clue how it will work, but you might want to consider that you could, possibly, get your friend in trouble for publishing that info online.

The company and/or the client might desire to keep their business-related info out of the public eye.

(But if it's dry powder, I bet it will work fine)

I appreciate your advice, but considering he's the business owner I don't think there will be an issue.

Thank you for assuming I was up to something unethical.

Don't thank me. I didn't assume anything. I didn't say you were up to anything unethical and I didn't say your friend was. And unless your friend is the owner or CEO of Sherwin-Williams, I'm not sure you're qualified to make the ASSUMPTION that they're OK having their business info plastered across the internet.

i don't think he was accusing you of anything unethical....he had no way of knowing your bud owned the company.
as a business owner myself i find that most owner don't want unsolicited advertising out in the public eye...not me ...i just call it free advertising.

Sorry latch, I'm kinda jumpy on Mondays.

Let's start it over and I'll delete the picture. The fencing company listed on the tag is a local shop who ordered this from Sherwin Williams.

I agree mozeppa, I'm just in a lousy mood this morning. My apologies guys. This company has actually started to dwindle and do very little powder coating anymore.

Actually this chain link project ceased in 2014.

You need to test the powder, S-W makes several grades of powder, some architectural and some high temp heavy duty. The thickness spec makes me believe it is good stuff but only testing will tell. They only sell in 55 gal min. quan.

Thanks popper. I plan on trying this tonight and I'll report how it turns out.

Apparently they have yellow too, but it was in large plastic totes and they didn't have a smaller container to put a sample in.

UH-oh!..It's Monday again so I'll 'tippietoe' in and whisper softly…"Why don't you try it on some boolits and see whatcha think? Don't have to do too many..right? Maybe post a pic. of your results, see how it looks and how thick the PC coating ends up?…Thats gotta tellya sumphin?"

Only thing you can do is test....test.....test.

If it coats and passes the hammer "cube" test, you are good to go.

I'll definitely be trying it tonight. Just picked this up this morning.

Like I said, sorry for being a doucher.

I got some leftovers from a PC shop at $2/pound.

The polymer coverage is 100% but the pigment does not cover 100%. For shooting, it works just fine for me especially at the price.

The close up asthetics are not great however. Here it is next to a HF red bullet.

If I get another batch of leftovers, I'll try something else out but I certainly don't mind using this powder because it works at the right price.

OK, I made a handful last night and they passed the hammer test.

After 15 seconds of shaking it was clear they were going to coat well.

They have a nice even coat. Much better than I'm getting with HF red.

Finally got to shoot some of these and they shot great. Good accuracy and zero leading.
