Uberti does make the 1885 for Navy Arms. Twist rate would depend on the caliber. They use different twist for different calibers.

If you got to Cimarron's web site they have the bore/groove dimensions and twist rates of all the Uberti and Pedersoli guns .

Get one of your rifles tuned up and come and play with us at Smithmoor or Byers sometime.

You are lucky living in Colorado, especially if you are within a few hours of Byers. I shot there last year and it's an excellent range with lots of great people.

I really like the .40-65 for midrange and silhouette. The only thing I can say about the Uberti built rifles is that I have a friend who shoots one and curses at it often.

Chris.

I have a Uberti 1885 HW in 38-55 and a 1885 HW in 45 colt and they both shoot pretty good with smokless but I have not used any black yet but I will this summer. I just have not had the time yet.

I think you'll enjoy it. They shoot silhouettes at Watkins on the first Saturday of every month also.

Ok that is better than 10 lb. Which class is 10 lbs or is there one.

Back in the 1800's the target rifle matches were limited to rifles weighing no more than 10 lbs , with a single trigger with a pull no less than 3 lbs.
The only time that 10 lb limit comes into affect nowadays is if someone enters the military rifle class in a bptr match.

Thanks Don. I don't know where I came up with the 10 lb limit. I guess I must of read about the matches that went on in the 1800's.
