Looking for a Harrington and Richardson 157 rifle with the full forearm stock...or any model that may have this stock configuration or just the stock...lost mine in a house fire in 2012 and want another one...pic is an example and for attention

Hi Bubba,

If you find two, would you point me to one of them.

Thanks, Tom

Another good place to ask is Greybeards in the H&R/NEF threads. go2gbo.com

You may need to contact the people at Boyd`s gunstocks for either a already made stock or about having one made by them for you.Robert

I made one for my 357, easiest gun to make a forestock for that I have ever done. If you have a little wood skill you can do it!

I'll be staying away from those folks from my own personal experience.
Bought a replacement H&R Buffalo butt stock from them and when I went to put it on, one of the screw pilot holes for butt plate was drilled off center and at an angle.
I e-mailed them and they said I didn't complain with in whatever period of time they had set.
I buy a stock and set it aside till I'm ready to put it on, buying when they appear to be available.
They will not be getting any more of my money!
It's still sitting here uninstalled if you'd like to see what I mean.
I may use it as template for future one.

I don't need to see what you mean. Your description is sufficient.

Thanks for the heads up on this company. The only handi rifle stockmaker I'm aware of. For me, that leaves go2gbo as the only source for handi stocks.

if one butt-plate hole bein' off was the only complaint I had I wouldn't let it stop me from dealin' with them again. a small drill-bit & 20 seconds of yer time woulda fixed that non-problem.

Oh, I misread the statement. I thought he meant the main hole that attaches the butt stock to the firearm frame. ha.

And I was thinking about making a joke about having some built in cast off... :)

I picked up a nice 158 in .22 Hornet with exactly this plan in mind. Gotta get moving on that project.

Nekshot, I may be contacting you for advice when I get going on this.

Well If my 157 in full wood 30-30 which the barrell is mated to a new sb1 action is correct.
Then the for-end screw is about 8 inches from the muzzle and not 8 inches from the breach.
Just saying.
I didn't like the plastic wobble nose cap on mine and ended up hacking the stock back a bit.
Sortta wish I hadn't now.

I bought a 157 in 30-30 a couple of years ago at a gun show. It is the only one I have seen in person.
