Since I am about out of Alliant 2400 and no one has it in stock I need a replacement. Has anyone used Accurate no 7 in the 357 magnum? This will be used in my Ruger blackhawk revolver.

I've not used it but it is listed in Lyman's 4th

I like Blue Dot for good velocity, and great accuracy.

A#7 works well, it is a little slower than 2400, about the same burn rate as HS-7 and Blue Dot. Burns clean and meters freely.

I use H110 and li'l gun for magnum loads and titegroup for plinking loads.

Another vote for H110. It is my go-to magnum powder. While not as versatile as 2400 is works fine for upper in loads.

I've moved from 2400 to Alliant 300-MP as it's available around here and online for a good price. Lohman's has 2400 but they want $230 or such for an 8# keg, plus hazmat and shipping. Ballsitic Products has 2400 in stock for a good price occasionally.

I like H110 in the .357 as well, and prefer 2400 for 44 mag. Though I have used both for both calibers with good results

Another vote for 300MP or H110 if 2400 is not available. Both are available in our area and shoot very similar (to each other) to me, but they are not as versatile as 2400. I have used AA#7 and liked it as well, but not sure whether or not you can load it down like 2400.

+1 for Blue Dot. For mid-range I'll also vote for Skeeter's load of Red Dot 5.0 gr. Using mag brass (because I have 38 Spl's in the family) I find Red Dot/ Promo 5.0 grs is outstanding under any boolit.
