I been a way for a while. life taken over. lot of stuff going on. finally got time. I painted with the wheeler cremi (can't remember the full name with out the can), follow directions to the tie, but still had to retouch it 3 times. so after the last time, I put 3 coats of sealant and 2 coats of urethane. did get its first test, my cat knocked it off the table. just chipped the protective layer but not the paint.

did a mod to the trigger guard, I did not want to fight putting in the pin (lost the pin more like it) I tapped it out to a 6-48 screw.

decided on getting an upper in 300 acc blackout. I was looking into a 30cal hunting rifle and can not use any thing under .243 cal of deer.

I was given close to a 1000 empty 556/223 cases. (have a jig that works really well already made) wonder what I be doing during the heavy snow they are calling for.

Looks good from here but picture is a bit small.

I've painted radio control planes and know how cat and wet paint or newly painted stuff attract each other.

Be sure to show us pics of it when fully completed

was following tips I found on inlaying but the engraving was not deep enough to work right. so my WIFE took a fine tip brush and filled it in. cleaned up with rubbing alcohol.

Really Charles, I'm a little surprised at your reaction to a colloquialism,,,,I'm fixing to have some spare time, do I need to carry you around to meet some folks? :D

Did you go with the 300BK. I was going to go that route last time but went with the 7.62x39 because of ammo on hand. Your lower looks great. With all the snow we've been getting you must have that thousand empties trimmed up and waiten on the dies. Hope your's rocks!

went with 300bk, simply, if I get a 556 upper or just barrel. not that many parts to swap out. plus va large game legal.

spent most of that last snow shoveling and working. everyone called out. grrr
