I use the same powder load with some 165 cast GC bullets for 200 yard paper and steel.bullets sized at .309 with both 7.62x51 and 308 cases
I'm going to try the 17 Gr 2400 with the GB 311291 in both my 308 Enfield 2A and 1916 CG Spanish Mauser this weekend.
What groove diameters are you all seeing on these Ishapore 308 Enfields? Mine is about .307 as best I could tell. I didn't expect it to be that tight.

these rifles were virtually unfired in Indian service.I haven't heard yet about anyone buying one with a groove larger than .309.
it's why I bought mine.it's the only true .308 I own.....308 semiautos are just too expensive for me,and I shoot too much ammo when I'm firing my AK's,SKS,Ar 15 as it is;)
I'm only sprayin and prayin with a .22 these days
Haven't fired mine yet, but I agree that the bore looks really good. If I was only looking at the bore, I'd say it was a brand new rifle.

mine is same bore and groove size as the 303 barrels, Believe mine was a std. brit barrel then chambered in 308, Exc. shooter.
