Finally going to shoot some light loads with the reloaded ranchdog bullets rounds

Kinda got me wondering what people use them for.

I got really heavy into archery a few years back and know weight is of the up most important when taking game.

Guess the other question might be how fast were they going?

The only game I see hunting in my near future is coyote and feral pig (not boar)

Most of my rifles that I shoot cast in all push a boolit of about 170 gr to 1500/1800 fps regardless of caliber. Me, my son and my neighbor have killed at least 10 deer, maybe more, a few coyotes and a bobcat.
These loads are quite accurate, very pleasnt to shoot and a lot deadlier than you would think.
I do use a pretty soft alloy and my 30 cal mold has a small HP but my 7mm, 8mm, and 338 molds do not. The 338 mold is a little heavier at 220 gr but at the same velocity.

If yotes & small pigs are the biggest your after those weights will work plain base at around 1100-1200fps.

I use a 150 fn GC boolit without the GC in 3030 with 6gr titegroup for roughly 1100fps. Shoots under an inch at 50yd when I do my part. Should lay down the critters you mention well enough.

The load I made up is 12.2gr unique. Basically it's what my 1.57 disk drops in my lee powder measure.

I have so many plinking bullets casted. (ones I sized to 309) before I knew how important sizing was

Harvested 2 deer with the NOE 311-155 FN last season sized and checked in a .3125 die simple green lube, both fired from a 24" barreled 308 24 gr. of 4227 and then 25 gr of Re7. Boolitz were cast of a soft alloy tests 11.8 BHN. my crony indicates 1950 FPS from my rifle.

Have taken multiple deer with the RD boolit and family and friends have used it also.

I believe My little 357 rifle has taken 10+ deer with 150 to 160 gr boolits. 1000 to 1200 FPS loads.

Got a pig 80 ft with 165 gr from 40SW pistol, stern to stem pass through, dead pig, ~950 fps. For yotes, you may want to push it faster with LeverE, 2400, 4227 - unique didn't work well for me and the RD. The BC of that boolit causes a BIG drop at any distance. Friend hit a couple with 223 @200yds and they keep on going. His 7 mag works better. RD boolit works well on anything you can HIT.

Been casting and shooting lead bullets for over 40 years. Raised two sons and taught them to hunt. Simple answer to your question about "what have you taken......." is this: tons of meat, freezers full of meat, many years of the family having meat without straining the grocery budget out of shape.

Shot a lot of the same with my .44mag pistol & rifle but they were 240gr.

Armadillos, coons, coyotes, crows, small pigs....if I run across a huge hog while that's what I'm carrying, won't hesitate to use it,that'll go on the list too
