Cross-posted from the ASSRA forum, but like most I'm too pleased with this to not share here.
I'm really surprised no one else bid on this one, probably because it was too high. I've been looking for an original, complete excellent condition Aydt for a long time and if I paid too dear I go to my grave happy! From the name tag on the front sling swivel it may have been stored at a range?

All original matching numbers, wood, action, barrel, trigger group, rear sight and parts, and the butt plate. No significant defects, except for the fresh fragment from the forearm done by the dealer, not me. Well, there is some blue flaking from the disassembly pin......

I took it down completely, and do not think it had been taken down before. The original grease was dried into all the crannies. The oil had dried to varnish. It shows little evidence of use although it must have been fired some.

Front sight has 3 beads and one post. Barrel is 31 3/16" long, one in 15 twist, throat slugs .3158, the muzzle .315. Six grooves/lands, perfect condition. 8.15x46r normalized. Can someone tell me about the barrel markings other than nitro proofs, date, caliber and case length? I wonder why the 7.7 was lined out. There is no liner and the chamber is definitely for a tapered case.

After making up a snap cap the set triggers work fine. The let-off on the front trigger is scary; my CPA is set at 3 ounces - this rifle lets off at just the first touch. Must be on the order of a half ounce. I do know it is too light to register on my trigger guage.

Pics are at Photobucket.

Very nice. I can see why you bought it. In my limited experience with really light set triggers, it is more user friendly if there is some travel in the trigger before let-off.

Surely wish you used the Cast Boolets hosting. Photo Bucket locks up my computer.

Looks familiar, nice rifle, I think I have its twin. (At least the best I could tell before that link crashed my computer)

Oh yes....same guy who spent his working years showing up at the shop in his homburg, taking off his suit coat, sitting down in vest and tie, to stamp those little circle punches onto the border before case hardening. Day after day, year after year....

yep, look about the same, does your rear site have the ability to magnify/focus? I would love a better pic of your front sight. I think my front sight pin is broken, need to duplicate. thank you

The Sperberroehrchen I presume. I'm told over on the ASSRA forum they are very hard to come by and as expensive, over 100 Euros, and not all are the same. My rear sight is not an iris. Let me break your heart and inform you that my front sight has 4 sights, that rotate on a square shank by a clock key. One is a post, and the remaining 3 are fine to larger than fine dots on a post. I'll take pics tomorrow. My rifle is not D&T'd. Took it out today and fire formed 5 cases cut down from 32-40; 10 grains of 4227 under a bullet slightly too small but the cases formed nicely. A fellow shooter is selling me his Ideal 319289 and I'm looking forward to some casting!

one of the problems I had with mine
the rims on 30-30 etc. are different thickness than the original, on some brass
there was a chart on ASSRA forum with the dimensions
if you can not find it PM me with an email, and I will send a copy to you

no, different than the Sperberroehrchen, I have one of those. My rear site still has ability to magnify and has other apertures also. I will see if I have a better pic of mine. shoot me pics of your front sight, here is my Sperberroehrchen

ok, found a pic, if you turn the knurled knob on the back you get some magnification.

Marvelous gun!
Great looking gun, I hope it shoots like it looks!

I have a 22 built like that action but nowhere a stock like that.
Apparently that square wrench worked on many parts.

IF you should want to mount a scope for accuracy testing, the grooved barrel will take 22 Mounts.

Mine ha HWZ 28 samped on the side and NO other markings.

T would love rear a sight, but I'm guessing the rear sight cost exceeds what I paid for the gun.

Geez....what a rear sight!! Once my cataract gets severe enough to remove I'll be able to look through one without that "bug" in the middle.
Here are the sight pics. Oh - 30-30 rims are generally too thick. I got lazy, cut and resized 32-40 brass. Works like a charm.

I had to use 30-30, I can't remember my mold number but the boolit has a seating band that you just thumb seat into case.
I will look at pics on my computer, really appreciate it

Ok, do the pins rotate on front sight? Mine is different I guess. I think it was just a pin or post. I don't have the recess to allow for other pins. Very cool. Maybe I will just make one like yours. my pin got snagged on something years ago I guess

As far as scope, someone drilled and tapped mine for unertl mounts, I can't remember if both were done, sigh wish they hadn't, o well

You must have a "stop ring" bullet - seats the heel into the case and the stop ring is sort of a universal adaptor. Pretty cool. NOE makes them, I need to order one myself.

Yep, that is one.
