Does anyone shoot cast in an M&P 9mm?

I do using Lee 120gr TC sized in .357. The M&P9c is my only 9mm. OAL has to be on the short side so do some plunk testing. I've tried a few powders and the gun has functioned just fine, even at starting loads with weak powders. On the downside, I've had some major leading issues when I tumble lubed. PC solved most of the problems but it still isn't perfect. With my gun, accuracy is serviceable but its not award winning so I can't say if my recipes would be accurate in other guns or not.

In other words, your gun will probably function with almost any powder but you'll have to do a lot of load development to get things right.

Ditto on the load development. I shoot lead in all of my M&P's (9mm,.357Sig &.40). It takes a while to get the right combination but it will shoot and operate very well.

yes I have. Probably at least 10k of cast bullet loads through my fulls sized 9mm. Compact 45acp and my 40 shield. there all relatively new guns so the round count isn't real high and ive never sat at the bench trying to find accuracy loads for them. I figure there fighting guns and if I can shoot 9 ring on a full sized silhouette target at 15 yards there plenty accurate for any fight id get into. None of the three seem to lead up and all are a 100 percent reliable with lead loads so far.

ive got a full sized m&p 9 ,a compact m&p 9 and a shield and shoot cast from all of them mostly the lee 120 gr tc bullet loaded over red dot .ive also shot the lee 124 gr tc and lee 124 gr rn bullet sized to .356 .ive shot them powder coated and tumble lubed with decent accuracy and little to no leading .

I've shot a few hundred rounds of 230 grain RNL through my M&P 45C with no problems. I didn't do any load development - just used one of my tried-n-true standby loads for that cartridge. It pretty well duplicates factory hardball ammo, and shoots at least as well as I can hold.

I've shot quite a high number of 128 gr. HP's & 140 gr. flat nose solids through my 9mm, all have been powder coated & after dropping an after market trigger in it I really like it. Its 100% reliable & I shot it in a couple of USPSA matches in Arizona with great results.
I also put a fiber optic front sight on it, but didn't change the rear sights, mostly I just pack it & beat up on the local ground squirrels when my revolvers run dry.

9MM Pro, 9C and 45 full size here. All shoot lead. The PRO will shoot the LEE 120, 150 fantastic. The 9C likes the LEE 125. The 45 likes the LEE 230 TC and RN. I've had problems with H+G 68 clone jamming. I use Hi-Tek coating on all the boolits.

Just installed an Apex semi fitted barrel in my 9 mm M&P CORE. Already had their forward facing triggers. With Herder's bulk ball ammo I'm getting sub inch groups off sandbags at 25 yards. I'm waiting on a four cavity Lyman mold to arrive so I can start working up a cast load for it.

If you're having accuracy issues with your 9 M&P, I highly recommend the Apex barrel.

I cast for mine. The lee 356 120tc needed to be seated at 1.080 in order to pass the plunk test. Any longer than that and they had a hard time ejecting and cycling easily. While firing it was ok, but cycling the gun by hand the rounds would get stuck in the chamber. I load the lee 125 grain rnfp 358 bullet at 1.020 and it feeds real nice. I got leading when sizing bullets to .356 and .358, accuracy went way up and leading went away when I started sizing to 357. Although your barrel may not be the exactly the same as mine.
