300 savage questions

I have just started to reload some 300 savage. I'm using 110grn. Hornady SP and seating to 2.45". The seating depth seems to be shallow, its only seating the bullet maybe an 1/8th of an inch. Is this too shallow? or is there something else wrong?

Unfortunatley I don't have the gun here with me to test the cycle of the action. [smilie=b:

Welp, I'm going to try a depth of 2.425" from my Lyman manual and see what happens.
