Lee dies are as good as any and better then some. What most criticise, is based on personal opionions and not on fact.

I have one in 30-06. I have used all the dies and they work fine.

Do not be afraid of Lee 4 die sets! I have a lot of them for many cal's and they work great and last a long time. The carbide sizing dies (in most Lee sets) need no case lube.

I use the Lee ultimate 4 die set, no problems here.

Just make sure you follow the setup instruction for the NECK sizer, I miss read the 1st time I used it and crushed the case.

I have one for my 30-06 and looking for a 308 set at the moment. My only issue being sometimes it doesn't resize the neck tension down quite enough to hold the jacketed bullet. I'm still adjusting to rifle loading so it could be personal error.

I have one for 223. Had a problem with the decapping pin not wanting to let go of the case (was well lubed-Imperial) and had trouble with the shellholder being tight but called Lee and they sent a new pin and shellholder right out and the problems were solved.

Don't be confused by the "rifle" 4 die set. It's basically 2 die sets in one. You will not use all 4 dies and any time to load one cartridge.

I have the Lee 4 die set in 223 and 270. I like them. For most loading I use the neck size die. If they get a bit tight to chamber I have the full length die to push the shoulder back.
With the factory crimp, you have the choice to crimp. This die works much better than the crimp in a seat die.
I have their three die sets for 250 Savage, 7.62x54R, 280 Rem. They come with the factory crimp die. I would like to add the collet die to these sets but Lee only sells them as a special order two die sets. A collet die with a seating die. At $70 bucks a set I don't think I'll get them.

If you still don't have enough tension after you get to the point where you are sure you have the die adjusted correctly, call Lee and order a smaller mandrel.

The Lee Collet sizing dies are a really great idea. They allow you to get nice consistent neck tension, without having to invest in all of the neck turning equipment required when using bushing dies.

I don't think many people realize just how important consistent neck tension is to accuracy, and even less folks realize that Lee collet dies are one of the best ways to achieve it.
