Here is the text of a bill submitted to the GA legislature. It probably won't go anywhere because both Houses are Republican controlled. But read it. Know what the Democrats are really after - confiscation.
It will totally ban machine guns in Georgia along with many other "assault rifle" makes and models (including the Colt HBar match target) and hi cap magazines.
It simply declares the listed guns, accessories and ammo as "contraband".
This is what they really want!

Sounds like they copied NY law minus the registration of so called assault weapons.

That really doesn't mean much these days.

Actually it is Bloomberg money at work.
Heard that it closely mirrors what happened here in Colorado with some California elements.

There's Atlanta and there's Georgia. If Bloomberg needs to waste some money Georgia is a good place to do it.

Every state has it's own "Atlanta" The battle in this country has always been rural versus urban....even during the Revolution it was pretty much true. And guns will always be in the forefront. It's not the guns...it's the ability to control you and an armed populace is very hard to control should they choose not to allow it. This is the first time in a long time when we have some actually good candidates running. Hopefully we can elect them and apply pressure to start rolling things back.

I sent Rep. Oliver an email just now...
Dear Representative Oliver,

As a law abiding citizen of Georgia I not only resent your proposed legislation that would make outlaws of many Georgians, but fervently hope your seat in the legislature is confiscated by a worthy Georgian in the next election.

Most Sincerely,
Hal Rowland

Great letter Hogtamer! I'd send one but it'd be wasted effort. Anyone who'd do something like that isn't affected by letters, I don't think. And we're lucky in Ga., to have a pretty good and reliable legislature that makes this kind of stuff a vain effort. Whew! That felt really GOOD to say, and MEAN it!

Decatur, huh? Kind'a a hotbed of libs, but there's a good sprinkling of conservatives there, too. I suspect her tenure may be short lived anyway. I may just do as you say, Hogtamer, just for you. Can't hurt, can it?
