Anybody tried Hodgdon Hi Skor 700x in a Marlin 1895 with a 420 gr (ww) plain base boolit? Would like upper plinking or mid range load suggestions.

That's my new project for Sunday. Planning on ladder loads from 4.8 of 700X with a 240 gr SWC in .44. Just got my coffee and ready to start reading old threads to figure a start for 700X in the 45-70. I'm assuming I'll wind up using dacron in the big cases with the reduced powder drop. Advice?

I have the hardest time finding any Alliant powders. Was looking for some Unique ( for the 44) but wound up with the 700x. Down to my last 4lbs. of 2400.
