I was just curious if anyone uses Green Dot in their 45LC. I am using it with the 44-250-K in my 44 Magnum with very good accuracy results. I am using 7.0 grains (923 fps) in a SRH.

Since it is so accurate in the 44 Magnum, I was wonder about the 45LC. I will be shooting the RCBS 45-270-SAA (283 grains). I can’t find any data and I was thinking about 7.0 grains as a starting load?

Any thoughts? Thanks…BCB

Start at 8, and go down if not to your liking. ... felix

I generally get more leading when I use that bullet with fast powders. Of course, I am loading it fairly hot. With 2400 I get hardly any leading.

I used up a "free" 3# keg of GD mostly in the .45 Colt with the 454190. 7-7.5 grains will give you about factory velocities.

By "free", it was a gift when a friend moved to Utah and it had to stay in KY./beagle

I've used it with 250gr CBs and it's satisfactory. I didn't notice any more accuracy with GD over other powders but if I have it (and I did) it certainly works.
