Should be interesting when something warranty worthy happens and someone tries to fit a .357 down a .22 hole. I think that might qualify as a little too much innovation. May be getting time to switch brands.

If they had invested just half that much jiberty-jee-hawin' on a five shot .41 mag or .41 special on the GP frame I could have seen buying one but not this .......... I'd rather carry a large bore and a .22 small frame and had BOTH revolvers for the price of El'switcho!

Yes. It appears that Ruger didn't change the setup when changing from .45 to .44 Vaquero barrels. I say this because both of my Vaqueros, built two years apart, were cut this way. The forcing cone of my .44 Magnum Super Blackhawk is much tighter, as is my S&W Model 544. While a huge forcing cone might be more forgiving of sloppy timing and loose cylinder lockup in a worn out work gun, it is not the ideal choice for gilt-edged target accuracy. It appears not to affect practical field utility.

The barrel shank is well supported and the large frame Vaquero is not a strength issue, and doesn't lead either. I tried both .45 Blackhawk cylinders (.45 ACP and .45 Colt) for fit in both of my .44-40 and .44 Magnum Vaquero frames. They fit, timed and indexed with acceptable cylinder gap. Cylinder interchangibility combined with generous tolerances entertains interesting fantasies for expedient emergency ammo exploitation after “TEOTWAWKI.”

I was reading and thinking "real??" and then I read this.

" Ruger Director of Engineering and Macro Aggression John McClane "

That spelled it all out.

If you missed the John Mclane reference then this should have been a big hint if you are old enough I guess:

According to Ruger's Benny Hill, Executive Director of New Things That Are Hard To Explain and Purveyor of Memorable Catch Phrases, Ruger marketing is taking a very conservative approach when representing the Swuck's capabilities. However, under this interviewer's probative pressures, and with Hill fresh from the Democrat Presidential Debates, he did state that the Swuck would: "...significantly reduce global warming, bring peace in our time, pay all college tuition, set a national minimum wage of $100/hour, and make the top 1% income bracket capitalist pigs pick up the tab for everyone else".
