Supposedly it is like IMR-700X in shotgun loads, and a little faster than Unique in handgun loads.

I have the opportunity to buy some at an attractive price.

if it's like 700-x I doubt you can go wrong.
if it's a tick slower that'd be fine too.
700-x is kind of overlooked and was one of the pistol powders I could actually find over the last year or so and had no problem buying it when I found it.

now that things have let off a little the rifle powders are all stocked to the hilt and I find little to no pistol powder.

"Shotgun Powders" were largely overlooked during the days of "powder crisis". Most are quite adaptable to "less than magnum" handgun rounds. Do you know how many rounds you can get from 1.3 gr Red Dot for.380 ACP in a single can of powder? If you have several grandchildren lining the reloading bench, turning it into "mass production", you can appreciate this. Everyone went away happy. Especially grandpa. They all want to continue shooting. Money well spent.

I know 8 lbs of red-dot or bulls-eye will give me about 18,000 9mm rounds.
double that and add a handful more.
casting that many is another whole can of worms.
