I own 4 Pedersoli's and am very happy with them.
As you may have seen on thier Web site there are a couple of versions of the Hawkens. Take note of the twist rates of what you want to buy

Fine guns for the money, I shoot and sell a lot of Pedersoli guns and people are very happy with them, I particularly like their RM "Hawken".

for the most part and imho, pedi firearms are top notch. i've had their kentucky flintlock in .45 and about to get their pennsylvania .32 flinter just for small bore fun. for the most part that i've seen, pedi long rifles will sport patent breech plugs, so a small .22 brush to get into the funnel should also be used during cleaning. i also have a pair of pedi rolling block bpcr's and they are superb.

Pedersoli makes fine firearms. As mentioned, make sure you know what twist you want.

The Pedi RM Hawken is fairly close to what an original 1840-ish J&S Hawken rifle looked like - for about 30% of a custom clone's cost ($2500-$3K), not to mention about 14% what a genie would cost, IF one could be found F/S ($8K, minimum).

as said twice here before. chose the type of bullet you want to shoot before you buy. slow twist for round ball and fast twist for sabot and bullet or paperpatched or bumpup cast bullet. pedersoli guns cost but you get high quality. a 50 cal round ball will drop a elk but a 50 cal 500 grain pp or cast will drop it better. a 54 cal round ball will drop elk, moose and deer and antelope very well. make your choise and get your gun and have fun.

The barrels are 1" x 34-5/8", with a 1:65 twist - the rifle weighs 10lbs.

There's a nice one for sale where I am as well with the deluxe maple stock in about as new condition. Thought about it but alas I have bought a few guns lately so my gun funds are depleted!
