I printed it way back when it was first offered and after many false starts, got er read.

He said 4227 and 358429.

I had a can of 4227 sitting around for the last 10 years or so doing nothing.

I put Glen's load behind the 358429 GB Boolit and it performed at 50.

That boolit and the GP 100 have never grouped better at 50 not too shabby at 100 ()I just plink off small rocks on the hillside behind my berm for 100 yard shots).

Took a gallon milk jug full of water out to 50 and boolit impact cut a wadcutter hole in the front and took the back side apart with authority.

The boolit hit was centered and exactly as planned with required Kentucky elevation applied as needed to come up from my 296 load!

Dang, now I wish I had 8 lbs or more of this stuff!

Now if I could just get them to shoot with the WC820 medium speed and 10b1010 since I have a lot more of both.

Keeping my last 2 lb of Imr 4227 just for that load -------->the old can Made in Canada

trying to find other powders that are close

the new 4227 is just not the same
(100 boolits into the back stop) :( not going to try any more

I just loaded a few cases with that load. It will be interesting seeing how they shoot in my Blackhawk.

I will have to see what they do out of the OM Blackhawk. It does NOT like most loads I have tried.

I originally had great plans for 4227 in the aught six, but my gun did not like 4227 at all.
I hope your experience is better.

I tried that load today at an indoor range using my new model Blackhawk. The results were good but not great. I think I need to try it again.
There was a guy next to me shooting a 308 with really loud muzzle blast. Did not do my shooting any good.
I tried an NOE copy of the RCBS 358-180-SIL gas checked over 12.5 grains of 296. It did a little better than the 358429 loads did. I need to try it again as well.

My 296 load is 15.2 grains and 358429.
This was courtesy of FEMEC and Lyman #3 manual.

Shoots 3" lower than the 4227 load at 50 yards, but straight on for windage, at least out of the 6" GP 100 I was shooting.
