Loaded up some 200 Lee RF boolits to play with in my Contender. I loaned it to a good friend in 2000, kinda forgot about it until he reminded me. I haven't shot it in quite a while and thought it might be nice to take it for a walk in the woods. Anyway the 200s shot to the old zero ,, so off to th ewoods friday afternoon. I decided I was a little lazy and settled into my friends ground blind for a little breather. Make that nap :), woke up and looke out before getting out to continue my hunt, good thing. There were 6 does feeding down the fencerow about 75 yards out, well couldn't resist. A single 200gr boolit at 75 yards led to a 20 yard run and pileup, no need for a trail. Mad these 35s hit hard, second deer for this little 20$ Lee mold this year! 14 inch 357 Herrett with 2x Leo. I have a good bit of AA2230C so that I had a slightly compressed load of that pushing the 200RF small HP drilled by hand with a tiny centerdrill, not more than 3/16 deep. Couldn't ask for better job.

Trophy does do taste good! Backstaps half gone already, and the sausage isn't even started. She does have quite a snout , interesting.

Thanks folks! I may just have to get me one of those little ground blinds, didn't know what I been missing! I have been a Contender guy since my first one in 1976, just been distracted with other stuff. Coming back arround to working up some cast loads for my barrels now. This workup was pretty short, first try shot real good and to the same zero as the old load. 30Herrett is next, then 256 and 30-30 and ... :)

Trophy does are a lot better eaten than trophy bucks!
